Sometimes, inspiration strikes in unexpected places.

This poem reflects on renewal, partnership, and the beauty of giving something old a second chance. It’s a reminder that even the worn and weathered can find new purpose with a little care and attention.

I’d love to hear your thoughts — what does this poem evoke for you?

HOME

You cried when you first saw me,

But I felt with a little time,

You’d begin to love me

And treat me really kind.

I was broken, beaten, and old.

You looked at me a little faint,

Then you cleaned off the rusty mold

And put on a new coat of paint.

I sheltered you from the weather.

You patched the cracks in my wall.

Being you partner has been my pleasure,

But could I just ask for one more hall?
