Cutting out Time for Inspiration to Find My Imagination

Sailing in Hawai’i

As a screenwriter, I draw my stories from a well of inspiration and imagination, with inspiration often igniting the creative spark. Despite my seasickness, I make it a point to sail every Sunday.

Why, you might wonder?

It’s simple. Sailing gives me a chance to spend time in a place I adore, experiencing the grandeur of life — mine just happens to be on the ocean.

I’m most inspired when I physically explore the world, engaging in conversations with intriguing people who share my passions. That’s the magic of my sailing days. Sure, I might spend the day queasily staring at the horizon and barely eating, but I also meet incredible individuals. They’re the ones who support me — even holding my hair back as I lean over the side of the boat. And just when you think it couldn’t get any better, whales breach the surface nearby.

My message is this: Venture out and immerse yourself in the world, especially in what you love, regardless of any drawbacks.

Where do you find your inspiration?

What sparks your imagination?
